Soundgarden frontman/guitarist Chris Cornell took part in an AMA (ask me anything) over at Reddit yesterday, April 08th. While his replies were generally quite brief, he did mention that the bands next release will likely be an album of b-sides. When asked about such a compilation and the possibility of it coming out, he stated: “for sure, don’t know when, but its likely the next release we do.”
He also mentioned that he hopes to have a new solo album recorded before the years end and that another studio album from Soundgarden will happen eventually. Perhaps the best exchange of the AMA came about when a user asked Cornell if he was “currently still stealing bread.” A question to which Cornell dryly replied: “No, I’ve paid the full price.”
The instrumental version of The Ocean‘s forthcoming album “Pelagial” can now be streamed in full via Spin.com. An alternate version of the album featuring vocals was also recorded, though is not yet available for streaming. Both versions of “Pelagial” will receive an April 30th North American release on Metal Blade. The band will also be on tour throughout North America this summer as part of the 2013 ‘Summer Slaughter Tour‘.
Bonus tracks have been revealed for the deluxe editions of Ghost (B.C.)‘s new album “Infestissumam“. The iTunes deluxe edition and physical deluxe edition will include “La Mantra Mori” and the bands ABBA cover, “I’m A Marionette“—which features guest drumming from Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, etc.).
The music video for the groups track “Secular Haze” will also be featured with the digital deluxe edition.
